Behind Closed Doors: Child Welfare and Community Resilience During Covid-19
May 14, 2020, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Join the Peace & Conflict Studies Center Thursday, May 14th at 6 PM to hear from Child Protective Services’ Disproportionality Manager Tanya Rollins, MSW and CPS Fatherhood Specialist Kenneth D. Thompson, Sr, for Behind Closed Doors: Child Welfare and Community Resilience During Covid-19.
Learn about the impacts of Covid-19 on child welfare, how Child Protective Services is responding to reports during quarantine, and how you can safely contribute to community resilience by maintaining and cultivating social connections in the face of physical distancing measures. Crucially, this conversation will be grounded in a discussion of equity; acknowledging the underlying risk factors posed by social inequities in our community that compound present public safety concerns for marginalized families and children.
