Teaching Philosophy

The discipline of philosophy aims to address some of the most fundamental questions of human life. Philosophy is ultimately a disciplined way of thinking about complex ideas and questions that we cannot immediately answer through empirical science. My courses serve as an introduction to philosophy and ethics and within each we will be engaged with philosophical content (that is, a selection of traditions, ideas, and texts that have been developed in the domain of philosophy) and philosophical skill (that is, the arts of reflection, reasoning, argumentation, and critical thinking). My courses are based on active discussion and participation and students complete several projects throughout the semester.
