Madeline Kinkel – Adjunct Professor of Religion, Humanities, and Creative Writing; Instructional Associate

Biography:

Madeline received her bachelor’s degree from Reed College, where she majored in Russian. After graduation, she was awarded a Fulbright Grant to Azerbaijan, where she spent a year teaching at the University of Languages. She received a master’s in theological studies from Harvard Divinity School and a master’s in creative writing from the University of Alabama. She has been teaching at ACC since 2021.

She translated a selection of poems by Lida Yusupova, published in the collection The Scar We Know (Cicada Press, 2021). She has published creative writing extensively and is under contract for her first book.
