Teaching philosophy:

I strive for inclusivity in my classroom, with specific focus on LGBTQ+ experiences, socioeconomic divides, mental health, neurodivergency, and racial equity. I believe diversity makes us better people and is essential in an academic context with an emphasis in empathy. Utilizing diplomacy and tact I mediate thoughtful discussions amongst students, keeping discourse civil and productive. I nudge shy students out of their shells and keep more boisterous students structured; while allowing every student their voice in a safe and supportive environment. I utilize a variety of techniques; in class games, discussion, and creative assignments, all leading to outstanding success. I have been quite impressed that, when pushed and encouraged, my students create amazing work.
