Teaching Philosophy

My goal as a Humanities instructor is to introduce students to critical inquiry about the literary sources and material cultures of different eras and cultural traditions. My classes consist of instructor-led lectures to familiarize students with the cultural context of course material and student-centered class activities, e.g. discussion, in-class exercises, and games. Through examining humanistic questions together in class, I hope my students will expand their appreciation of different cultures and develop their own unique lens for reflecting on their aspirations, beliefs, and identities.
