Toño Ramirez –

Interim Department Chair of Philosophy, Religion, and Humanities

Professor of Philosophy

Biography

I earned a PhD and MA (both in Philosophy) at Brown University, and a BA at UC Santa Cruz (also in Philosophy).

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching style is primarily conversational. Students in my courses should expect active discussions emphasizing the connections between traditional philosophical problems and contemporary lived experience. And perhaps a bit of humor, where I can fit it in.

Areas of Interest

I tend to be most interested in topics in moral psychology and metaethics.
