Welcome to ACC\u2019s Department of World Languages (WOLA)<\/b>. We offer college-credit courses at locations across Central Texas and online to students around the world in ten of the world\u2019s major languages: Arabic<\/b>, Chinese<\/b>, French<\/b>, German<\/b>, Italian<\/b>, Japanese<\/b>, Korean<\/b>, Latin<\/b>, Russian<\/b> and Spanish<\/b>. We invite you to explore here to find out more about our courses and the resources available to current and future students.<\/p>\n

Studying a new language can be an enormously rewarding experience. In a state as diverse as Texas, even basic knowledge of a language can increase professional opportunities. Being able to communicate in a new language offers access to different people, ideas and cultures in a way that no translator, human or machine, can approach. I am especially proud that our courses help many of our students learn more about their own cultural and linguistic heritage.<\/p>\n

Our faculty bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our courses. They maintain high standards, while always remembering that the first priority is student success. Faculty members hold regularly scheduled office hours to help students with issues or concerns, and ACC\u2019s Learning Labs offer free tutoring for current students for many of the languages we teach.<\/p>\n

Students who successfully complete our courses receive college credit, which counts toward the language requirements for ACC degrees and is transferable to most colleges and universities.<\/p>\n

Again, welcome to ACC and to our Department. We look forward to seeing you, in a classroom or online.<\/p>\n
