To answer these questions, the philosophies of Machiavelli and Hobbes will be discussed.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fac1\">February 3, 2011<\/h3>\n<p><b>Philosophy Forum Lecture Series: <i>Koyaanisqatsi<\/i><\/b><br \/>\n<b> 7:00pm &#8211; 9:00pm | Eastview Campus Multipurpose Room 8500<\/b><br \/>\nThe Philosophy Forum lecture series continues with a film Screening of <i>Koyaanisqatsi<\/i>. Released in 1983, the film is director Godfrey Reggio\u2019s debut as a film director and producer and is the first film of the Qatsi trilogy. <i>Koyaanisqatsi<\/i> was the first full-length commercial nonverbal film capturing 90 minutes of stunning visual images of North America and set to a moving score composed by Philip Glass. <i>Koyaanisqatsi<\/i> is a Hopi word meaning \u201clife out of balance\u201d. Created between 1975 and 1982, <i>Koyaanisqatsi<\/i> is an apocalyptic vision of two different worlds &#8211; urban life and technology versus the environment.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"fac1\">April 7 2011<\/h4>\n<p><b>Philosophy Forum Lecture Series: Women, Education and the Social Contract<\/b><br \/>\n<b> 7:00pm &#8211; 9:00pm | Eastview Campus Multipurpose Room 8500<\/b><br \/>\nThe Philosophy Forum lecture series concludes with a discuss on women, education and the social contract.
