Following the film, a discussion will be hosted by Grant Potts, Chair of the Philosophy, Religion and Humanities department. This event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fac1\">February 11, 2014<\/h3>\n<p><b>Philosophy, Religion and Humanities Lecture Series: The Ethical Philosophy of \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d<\/b><br \/>\n<b> 7:00-9:00pm | Eastview Campus Room 8500<\/b><br \/>\nBreaking Bad has earned an enduring place in television history for its uncompromising exploration of ethics. Although the show\u2019s premise is straightforward&#8211;condemned by fate to suffer a random cancer diagnosis, mild-mannered chemistry teacher Walter White decides to start cooking methamphetamine in order to \u201cprovide for the family\u201d&#8211;its treatment of ethics is highly complex. This lecture will examine some of Mr. White\u2019s choices by placing them in conversation with three of history\u2019s most famous ethical philosophers: Niccolo Machiavelli, Immanuel Kant, and Jeremy Bentham.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fac1\">February 20, 2014<\/h3>\n<p><b>Dreamworks: Freud and Jung, Part II<\/b><br \/>\n<b> 7:00-9:00pm | Rio Grande Campus Gallery Theater<\/b><br \/>\nJoin us for a continuation of our fall discussion on dreams and how the act of interpreting a dream generates its meaning.
