I completed my graduate work in philosophy at Columbia University in the City of New York receiving an M.A. in 2010 and an M.Phil. in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>My publications include: C.M. Whalin, \u201cEndurance, Perdurance, and the Psychological Continuity Criterion of Personal Identity\u201d, published in <em>Southwest Philosophical Studies<\/em>, Vol. 31, 2008.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Teaching Philosophy<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>I have three major objectives I am aiming to achieve when teaching philosophy:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Provide students with experience in critically evaluating arguments and viewpoints, including their own;<\/li>\n<li>familiarize students with major issues and ideas in the history of philosophy; and<\/li>\n<li>try to encourage students to guard against all forms of dogmatism and foster an open, yet critical, mindset.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>My classes are, for the most part, lecture-based.
