Biography

As a child and young adult, I lived in Cuba and Mexico. As an adult, I lived in Ecuador and Brasil as well as California and Texas. I have a B.A, History/Latin Am. Studies, U. T. Austin; an M. A. Latin Am. Studies, Cal State Los Angeles; and a Ph. D., History, Political Science, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. My dissertation is on the History of Ecuadorian Labor Movement.

 

Teaching Philosophy

In a combination of lecture, group work, and individual reports I hope to have students practice asking questions: what, when, why, where?
