Duties<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Geographers typically do the following:<\/p>\n

  • Gather geographic data through field observations, maps, photographs, satellite imagery, and censuses<\/li>\n
  • Conduct research via surveys, interviews, and focus groups<\/li>\n
  • Create and modify maps or other visual representations of geographic data<\/li>\n
  • Analyze the geographic distribution of physical and cultural characteristics and occurrences<\/li>\n
  • Collect, analyze, and display geographic data with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)<\/li>\n
  • Write reports and present research findings<\/li>\n
  • Assist, advise, or lead others in using GIS and geographic data<\/li>\n
