The Journal
Curiositas is an academic journal dedicated to showcasing student work from Austin Community College — essays, artwork, recordings and projects that carry the mark of a restless, questioning mind.
We publish work produced in ACC classrooms that demonstrates a unifying vision of the creative and intellectual worlds. Submissions are read by a faculty editorial team and published annually.

Example One
A video essay
Frater Familias was produced by Jay Murray in Professor Rob Crowl’s ENGL 1301 class — English Composition I. We include it here as an example of the kind of work that could be published in Curiositas.
Example Two
A personal essay
A Woman’s Place was written by Ashley Miramontes in Professor Jeanne Chaltain’s English Composition I class. It braids personal narrative and research into an argument about the place women are given, and the place they take.

Student Research Symposium
Last spring, ACC students present the research they have spent the semester building. The symposium is one of the best places to see the curiositas we look for — and a natural first step toward a submission.
