Restorative Listening Circle: Exploring Uncertainty<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Art Galleries<\/span><\/a>(TAG) and the <\/span>ACC Center for Peace & Conflict Studies <\/span>will host a Restorative Listening Circle with the aim of creating a space where visitors can gather together to explore how moments of uncertainty can spark positive social and personal change.<\/span><\/p>\n

Developed in tandem with ACC faculty, this exhibition features artworks by ACC Studio Art faculty shown alongside works by students, alumni, and Austin-based artists. Thematic interactive activities are included to provide creative and generative spaces for gallery visitors to explore uncertainty through collaborative visual experiences and shared artistic expression.<\/span><\/p>\n

Restorative Listening Circles offer an inclusive and collaborative space for participants to share openly and build trust with each other. Everyone will have a chance to speak without interruption and all voices are valued as equally important. Circles strengthen community relationships and provide the space to understand others’ perspectives.<\/span><\/p>\n

Arrive 30 minutes early for refreshments, explore the gallery at your own pace, and connect with your peers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Art Galleries and the ACC Center for Peace & Conflict Studies <\/a>will host two Restorative Listening Circles with the aim of creating a space where visitors can start a conversation about the issue of gun violence in our society. These events will be one hour long and consist of two-parts. We will start at 5:00pm with an in-gallery discussion in Gallery 4000<\/a> about an artwork in the exhibition. Then, we will all transition to a nearby space for a discussion circle.<\/p>\n

Join us on <\/span>Thursday, September 19th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the RGC Multimedia Room (1103)<\/b> for an interactive event designed to help you confidently express your values in the college community and beyond while building community through food and in celebration of the <\/span>25th Annual International Day of Peace<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
